What Is a Liquidation Pallet Manifest? How to Read One
What is a pallet manifest?
A liquidation pallet manifest is a document or list describing products associated with a particular lot. Depending on the supplier and inventory source, it may include product names, identifiers, quantities, condition notes or other available details.
What information should you look for?
- Product description: Check that the item description is specific enough to identify the goods.
- Quantity: See whether the listed count is exact, estimated or otherwise qualified.
- Identifiers: UPCs, model numbers or SKUs can help you research products when supplied.
- Condition: Read condition notes and confirm whether they apply to the whole lot or individual items.
- Lot reference: Make sure the manifest belongs to the exact pallet being offered.
What a manifest does not guarantee
A manifest should not be treated as a guarantee of retail value, working condition or resale profit. It may not show every defect, missing accessory or packaging issue. Some lots are sold without a manifest, and the listing should state whether one is available.
Questions to ask before buying
Confirm whether the manifest is downloadable or available on request, whether the quantities are exact or estimated, and whether the photos show the exact lot. If the listing uses sample or representative photos, understand that distinction before ordering.
